And you don't understand the mechanism proposed for the effect of severe drought on trees.......with lack of water the leaves of the tree shrivel and cause the pores in the leaves to shrink thereby preventing CO2 from being absorbed....... The abstract your clinging to proposes no mechanism.....only the finding that the trees they found in the tar pit had reduced amounts of carbon.
