Asensio approached REFR on behalf of clients who were bleeding money having REFR go from 6s to the 30s. They have never recovered and still have to buy back TRIPLE the amount of shares. This of a stock that trades an average of 30K a day. Asensio started assailing REFR when they wouldn't give into his threat. See below. March is 3 months prior to the June 2001 press release. Now Asensio is barred from the industry and REFR is making millions and poised to make 10s of millions.

On March 15, 2001, you approached Research Frontiers and asked if we would sell stock directly to your “friend” who had a short position in our stock and who might want to cover that position without having to repurchase these shares in the open market.Although you have publicly denied that this meeting took place in your two separate “press releases” dated August 24th, our evidence, including your own correspondence after the meeting confirms that you in fact did meet with us on this date. As you may recall, we appropriately turned down your request.

And 13 years later REFR has not made a dime and has had loses every year and no dividends.
Income rose from approx 200K in 2001 and 2 MILLION+ in 2013 and 2014
