Yes. but only for about 43 (or 81 since 1933) years. Let me know when they or any fiat currency is successful for thousands of years as a store of value, a medium of exchange, etc.

And as you note, they're still a substitute currency and have lost 96%+ of their value in the last century. Also note that I'm not in favor of a 100% gold standard.
