Dear Bobby:

>>And the Lord spake unto Moses saying, Speak unto the children of Israel, that they bring me an offering: of every man that giveth it willingly with his heart ye shall take my offering.

And this is the offering which ye shall take of them; gold, silver, and brass.

The subject of offerings is so very special.

I have heard preachers with my own ears asking people to make offerings to God or pay tithes by putting the balances on credit cards. Anyone listening: let those who can hear, hear.! This is tanamount to that preacher accepting sick or lame or blemished sacrifices and God will reject your offering.

The whole idea of an offering is quality. God does not want an offering blemished by debt. The first fruits offering was the cream of the crop. Give God the very best you have. You may appreciate this very much, being a gold bug. One week I felt the Holy spirit was leading me to make an offering of gold to the Lord. I'm not saying this to brag or anything but I had this one coin that was my prize posession. I had other coins worth more but this one small denomination coin was the apple of my eye, after a lot of prayer and after I felt the Lord was telling me HE WOULD ACCEPT my offering I dropped it in an envelope and placed it in the offeratory that Sunday morning. To this day I feel that I deserve no special recognition, nor have I received any special blessing from this offering, that I know of. I did it because I feel God deserved it , I wanted to do it and in a strange sense I feel it was God's requirement for me, and for me not to do it would have been disobedience.

So, in all your offerings give God the apple of your eye, and you will become the apple of His eye.

In Christ.gregor
