In the Goober Nation, racists abound in both parties, especially during Byrd's years.....you know that. But..............but........but .............. The Democrats made him one of the most important people in the country, not just some local nitwit. One of a hundred that passes the laws and determines policy. Why did Dems make him a KKK leader their leader in the Senate for so long? He was President pro tempore of the Senate when he died in 2010. Third in line of succession to the Presidency.
