It's actually designed for the 5.56 ballistics. But a 300 WM with a 168 gr match head would be very close in trajectory out to 500 yards and then would hold much more velocity and energy the rest of the way. You can always configure the cross-hairs to give you the drop you need. I've just always enjoyed ballistics and traditional weapons. I wish I'd had an interest in collectibles. I've sold so many well priced guns over the years that quadrupled in value even though they were not really "collectible." hindsight.....eh! Shootie
