Here's the numbers used by Teck in March 2013:

Cu $ 2.70 Mo $ 13.60 Au $ 1010 Ag $ 16 all US $.

Operators use very conservative numbers when doing their estimates since they are the ones putting the billions on the table, not the consultants.

Another big problem is that exchange rate works against them until they actually produce something. Most of the mining equipment purchased will be in US Dollars. Take for example the haul trucks. They are 25 million a pop and are not made in Canada. How many required? That's just one small example in a really big picture.
