Kirk, all your pages I tried just now load fast with my Win8.1/Chrome desktop.

However, sometimes after the morning boot up Chrome struggles and won't load anything. When that happens I use FF instead and switch back to Chrome later. Searches show others see this but have no remedy [I think the message bottom left is something about "loading a script"]. Here's one attempted solution productforums.google.com!topic/chrome/-8qMROT3EFY

Just had a problem with wife's old Vista. Chrome would not work at all, even after uninstalling, fresh new install, full AVG scan and Malwarebytes scan. Finally used System Mechanic which found HD corruption which finally fixed Chrome.
