On a fundamental basis, NOVL is very weak and faces a tough year.
On a technical basis, the stock could fall slightly below $7 but attain an altitude of $12 1/2 going into next year.

Unlike Apple computer, Borland and some of the other dogs, NOVL with its greatest asset - that $1 billion in short term assets will make it a company in play sooner or later. With a market cap. of under $2.8 billion, the company's products...correction - product is selling at a mere $1.8 billion. Its people and installed base worldwide should be worth at least $1 billion leaving its product worth under $1 billion.
I doubt its stock price will fall much from current levels given the savings from the staff layoffs.

NOVL runs the risk of losing more good people if it has not already done so. I am sure MSFT would be ready to pick them up given the growth that company is undergoing.

P.S Reagrding NOVL marketing, no surprise. So what else could be new ?
