the only answer is to work longer and save more.

The Germans though the same: the economy opportunity and wages will create new vigor in the economy as German retired in droves.

In the German case they started getting rid of them at age 65. Dropped to 63 then to 60 and ended up offering early retirement at age of 53!

Fact is they were not being replaced by a young guy. They were just closing the position because they were not adding value.
