......well my Congressman Chris Gibson was one of the 20 that voted AGAINST Boehner for speaker. I could not understand this vote as Gibson had one of the worse Conservative voting records of all Republicans. He was all over the place on issues and yet still stood firm on some key ones. I never could figure the guy out given his long military background and obvious intelligence. I had high hopes for a consistent conservative stance given how he ran his initial campaign. It became obvious pretty quickly that something got to him. I had repeatedly contacted his office and told him how disappointed I was with some particular vote or another. I told him personally that he was not the Conservative he portrayed himself to be and that he no longer represented me. I had planned to contact his office to get an explanation for his Speaker vote. It was just so surprising ........ but not so surprising any more. Gibson had pledged when first elected to serve no more than 4 terms. Well, Gibson just announced this (third) term will be his last. One might think his speaker vote was in some way related to his decision to leave. NO chance. He preferred McCarthy from California who is just as lame as Boehner but can sling it better on the Sunday morning shows. Turns out Gibson is setting up a run for NY Governor in 2018 and is selling himself as the second most independent Republican in Congress............that explains his voting record.........one for the left side of the aisle.........one for the right side ............just independent Chris Gibson........reaching across the aisle...........getting things done for the people. These politicians are just so phoney...........always working the con on the electorate........still he would be a huge step up from the Great Goombah Cuomo.
