Easy now SLB and BJS. They were trying to slip away, now it appears as if some support is coming in. It would be great to get late yesterdays action for a whole hour today.

"Even more oversold than the rest of the oversold sector" - very
well put. I am long on both these stocks and have been particularly
frustrated by the wilting of Varco, from a recent high of 69 to a
pre-split low of 38. Although hind sight is 20-20, I almost sold
it at the recent high or thereabouts after noting its rather high PE
of 51 at the time. I guess those that rose the most had the farthest to fall to bring their valuations back in line with the rest of the sector, as VRC's PE is now closer to 32.

Baird ... I agree with you on your MDCO and VRC reasoning.

I've seen this pattern before; speculators (dare I say investors?) are always looking for the over-beaten ones that will stand the best chance of a %%% gain when the tide raises all boats. If MDCO settles down again, that to me confirms this rationale. If MDCO shows strength on sector dips and continues moving upward more than its usual action, then I would suspect "something else" is afoot ...

Of course, in the real world, models employing one factor as THE reason are lacking (to me). Lots of people out there ... lotsa reasons that things are moving and shaking. Naturally if there are powerful forces attempting to manipulate the market, that could be a mighty big reason!

Ah,whata I know Just some thoughts ...
