The ISPs make sure their customers have no other choice by trying to block municipalities from operating their own services.
Which is what Obama is trying to correct. The (R)'s are trying to frame it as a 'states rights' issue, because the way it currently works, state laws can block municipalities from doing it. The states have the right to accept the bribes from the ISP's, and prevent folks from having a choice, rewarding monopolists.

If the (D)'s can successfully communicate this past the (R) bafflegab, why would anyone that hates their current monopoly ISP be AGAINST it? Because, Obama?
