Well, may we live in interesting times... Which undoubtedly we do.

Seems taht today we don't know waht to think, between the 3M warning and the Japanese Plan and BOJ intervention. Some are saying they'll do it again if the dollar starts ticking up. But they can't, of course, do it forever, and in recent years it seems taht if central banks don't work in concert to support or bring down a currency unilateral intervention won't have an effect for long. And sometimes it's had no effect at all. Gotta say, they were pretty clever about it, though.

It's snowing here. The Italian attitude toward snow is similar to the Italian attitude toward leaves: ignore it. At the moment it's not enough to be pretty, just an inconvenience. I'd like to see a meter before tomorrow morning, wehn I'm supposed (really have) to go to a stupid meeting in Pavia. The castello there is freezing cold even when it's warm outside. It'll be horrible, and means also taht I have to get up at 7:30, which is just not ME.
