Vic, I agree. It's a hard one to tell if companies will sneak a Tempest or two into this year's budget at the last minute (after they have already had their evaluation period) or put it into 98's budget.
I just hope (like many companies do) they decide not to shop around for 6 months after they get the money approved.

I spoke with Helen this afternoon.

1. GlobalCom and a few others requested an extension of the evaluation period up to the end of the year.
2. FTEL will ship many units (# unknown)in January based on verbal commitments.
3. Helen is expecting a signed contract with a backbone carrier within days. At this time the final t's are being crossed and i's being dotted. She did state that it is possible that the holidays may cause a delay until early January but everyone is really working at getting it completed.
She expects there will eventually be 3 or 4 carriers.
4. Helen is expecting a number of exciting events in the near future.
