Your belief that the economic recovery under Obama from the devastation of the Bush years and Bush's financial meltdown was inevitable is an interesting theory, borne of a right wing fantasy of an alternate reality.

For Mr. Obama, job creation during his presidency still depends critically on the next two years. Over the past 12 months, the economy added 2.7 million jobs. If that pace of job growth continued, Mr. Obama’s presidency would pass both presidents Richard Nixonand Jimmy Carter (neither of whom, it should be noted, served two full terms.) If instead another recession were to occur, Mr. Obama could of course drop in these rankings.
