PMS has pretty much summed up the way I feel about all this. I am primarily concerned about protecting the data that I create. My method of keeping that stuff on CD's has worked perfectly for me.... so far.

I got caught up in all the recent traffic here about imaging and backing up. WalMart had the Toshiba 1TB external hard drive for $59, shipped to my door. That sounded like a reasonable deal and I could replace the 5-6 CD's I now use with this one small external. Today I will set that up and be done with it..... I hope!

I should point out that I no longer trade futures. I don't have to keep the amount of data and charts that I once did. I've also mentioned that I keep only a few (+/- 200) photos, NO music and NO videos. In the four years I've had the desktop (where my important stuff is kept), that 1TB internal HD is still less than 30% full.
