Metacomet thinks that "jobs" is something good. In fact, people like spending power and modern life, not jobs. That pipeline will do a lot more than create jobs. It will enable hordes of people to enjoy the benefits of energy. The people they pay for the oil will buy goods and services that they want. Those suppliers will pay loads of taxes to the government people who Metacomet loves so much. Without the money coming from selling the oil, there won't be taxes to collect.

If selling the oil created zero jobs in delivering the oil, it would still be a great thing to do.

Metacomet can't understand that.
