The difference is that the 1998 High Growth stocks thread is the continuation of a thread that tracked a basket of stocks for 1997. We will 'stop' taking ideas on Jan. 10 and then track a basket of selections to see how they do. I have noticed that this format tends to create some interest and gets people to debate the merits of the stocks...I find that new threads can sometimes 'change the energy' and bring new ideas to the fore where they might otherwise have been ignored. Just a few thoughts. Another thing, once the basket has been selected, the thread activity drops to virtually nothing. It's sort of a year end thinking exercise.
