HH, me not know the theory about these bills, bonds and such. I guess it is interesting to see how the auction goes - which the traders use as a liquidity gauge.
SPY short? Joe B the market strategist at Grunt et al. thinks the SPY has an upside potential of 3%. Why not go long SPY now and sell later at 100, if there are takers at that time? -g-

I think SPY is relatively less risky short - the pay-off is not much, though! If you can find a turkey in the mid teens, that will be better. Look at Roger Babb's thread. I shorted Citrix - it is not for the faint hearts.
