The recession belongs mostly to the Left. Be that as it may, how it you think a "more progressive tax system" (translation: Higher Taxes) will "help"?

No bullshit. Just explain how it is you think higher taxes are going to improve the lot of the ordinary American?

Zax,
It is indeed a shame that median incomes lags the recovery from the Bush's administration's recession. But it will come, and a more progressive tax system will help.
No, it won't. Tax systems do nothing to reduce the gap between rich and poor. If anything, they only help exacerbate it.

The only valid reason for a "more progressive tax system" is to increase tax revenues. The rich get richer, and government wants its cut.

If you want to see that gap close, improve education. And not just by throwing more money at it.
