Ronald Reagan was early, in the same way that firemen would be if they barged into your home and sprayed down the interior with water 37 years before your home caught on fire.

Normal people call that sort of inappropriate behavior mental illness, rather than being 37 years early.

Since we're currently in an economic depression it would be helpful to to our economy to repair infrastructure with government debt. Work which needs to be done, and the construction industry needs work. And the IMF has strongly suggested we require a transition or part-time and contract employees to full-time, just as the IMF has strongly suggested that Europe needs to make it easier for businesses to hire and fire employees and eliminate promotion by seniority. All "structural reforms" which would benefit the economy and increase wealth.

In contrast Ronald Reagan created a huge budget deficit with no offsetting economic benefit, apart from destroying the Middle Class and impairing economic growth. For fun his repeal of prudent banking rules destroyed the Savings and Loan industry at a immense cost to taxpayers .

Ronald Reagan was merely wrong and crazy and so were his supporters.
