Are Novell's fundamentals too poor at this point? In other words they don't have any new products/alliances, and even unforeseen agreements with other companies that provide them with underlying fundamentals?? Just curious, as I feel the fundamentals are good (not great) and that it could rally with some unexpected news/successes. Remember when AT&T was trading near 32-34 this past July and everyone just hated them, I mean all the damn analysts bad mouthed it, and now they trade at 58 and they can't buy enough? Thats when my father started to pick up some shares (at 34), as their fundamentals were very strong (plus the dividend) and he's a value investor (limited downside risk). He feels the same way with NOVL. Of course you have to be willing to wait it out, whereas many on wall street today are too impatient to find emerging gems before their price rises. That the great thing about value investing, you limit your downside risk, but have an excellent upside potential. Novell has been under accumulation lately (was a "B" rating in Investors Business Daily until this week - now C) and I'm assuming that it isn't just from the recent trade show announcements either. I agree though, it is a safe haven and hopefully a profitable haven too.
