Tech Master already seems to be upset that I even asked the question.

However, it will be interesting to see who gets the full project once the assesment is done. I think that it would be most likely AGISS who gets first shot at it, but we will have to wait and see.

TPRO < I have charted this stock and followed it as of late. It seems to hit major resistance at the high end of the trading range and ,as I stated on the 2000 thread, I wouldn't buy any until it brakes through $7.00 and stays there for a while. The short interest in the stock is also very high and has risen every month for the past 4 months. If it breaks under $5.00 it may become a good buy, but between $5.00 to $7.00 it is dead money.

Thanks Jeff, as always, for following up so quickly. As promised, Mary Cripe, Y2K Project Manager at MMM, did return my call today and my additions to this discussion are as follows:

-she clarified Jeff's point that this relationship is a cooperative one. MMM and ALYD are working in great concert towards remediation of their Tier 1 (or "fatals") code. She emphasized that those should be done by mid-1998. It is important to note that she has acknowledged the probability that ALYD will get to look at their Tier 2 (or "criticals") code as well, to be finished by mid-1999. Mary claimed that they would indeed begin to have some failures by Jan.1, 1999 if the "fatals" were not compliant by then.

-the contract does focus on their COBOL code in their corporate offices in St. Paul, MN. Their plants and other sites have had ALYD passed to them as a competent source for help, but will be left to make their own vendor/tool decisions.

-MMM has a great working relationship with ALYD, but pride themselves on having quickly mastered packaging problems from their end. They have planned phone calls with ALYD every Monday morning and are free to call anytime they have problems or questions.

-an aside, to TPRO followers. She did admit that embedded systems fall under their scope of project management and they have been talking with TPRO. No finalized deal there yet that she would mention.
