News out today: Amer Materials & Tech Buys 650,000 Of Its Shrs From Palomar Lost Angeles -- American Materials & Technologies Corp (AMTK) agreed to purchase about 650,000 or about 15% of its outstanding common shares from Palomar Medical Technologies. (PMTI). In a press release Thursday, Amercian Materials said it expects to complete the share repurchase, which is subject to financing, in early 1998. Following the repurchase, Amercian Materials said it will have about 3.75 million shares outstanding. American Materials & Technologies manufactures and markets composit materials for the aerospace, defense, transportation, communication, sporting goods, and other industries. Palomar Medical makes lasers to treat skin problems. Is this good news for Palomar? Not sure what it really means. Lynda
