ElM, the pirates were just some local thugs out for some highway robbery. Peter Blake made the mistake of getting his gun to see them off, but without making sure he had the upper hand before doing so. He didn't realize he was a sitting duck for the guy outside who seeing the looming threat got a big fright and thinking kill or be killed, shot first, in the back, before Peter Blake could get out on deck. I can understand why the murderer did it as it was becoming self-defence. But highway robbers don't have a self-defence defence when they kill their victims, even if the victims decided to fight back. Peter Blake did not die in a contract killing. Sometimes your conspiracy theories are just too stretched. There are often simpler, straightforward reasons. Do an Occam's Razor test first. Mqurice
