Bob, My friend sells diamonds but she isn't home right now. I'll call back in a little while. I believe a 1 carat diamond is around 4-5 mm.

I don't think the density varies much.

Bob,
a properly proportioned brilliant cut (round) 1ct diamond will be 6.5 mm, a 2 ct at 8.0 mm and a 3 ct at 10mm.

Please remember that a yield of 30-50% of the rough material weight is a good return on a finished gem
