Fasting on Yom Kippur and keeping kosher are sacred duties.
Coming to America, not so much. Don't recall it being mentioned in the Torah.

This am on CNBC, Michelle Caruso Cabrera is in Greece following the Greek situation. She was interviewing a Prof of Economics, very much a part of the changes going on and certainly a leftist. He formerly taught at the University of Texas. Cabrera asked him how he could have survived in Texas...he responded..." I did not live in Texas, I lived in Austin."

I am still laughing.

Of course the Israeli ambassador--a close friend of Netanyahu's--would come out in favor of it. But a former ambassador and a number of Israelis have condemned it (see the article I posted from the NYT earlier).
