I would argue that Obama failed at two wars.

As to the recession, it is interesting that the true cause of it -- Fannie Mae -- contributed more to Barack Obama (at the time, a first-term senator who had been campaigning for half of it) than to any other politician.

It is fine to argue about who caused what but as they say, "Follow the money."
