Mike,
Sorry to take up space on AVNT board but this is my view of AMZN. This is presented as is without warranty and is subject to errors and omissions.
The shorts have been squeezed in AMZN once already and can be squeezed again. The compelling reason to sell AMZN short seems to be that people think the price is too high. This is the wrong reason. The float is tiny and easily manipulated but the strong holders. The float is only 3 million shares and the outstanding is 23 mil shs. This means 20 mil shs in strong hands who are in control. A bear trap is a sell off to knock the price down a little to attract some shorts and then do some buying to get them to cover. Three million shares is TINY.
YHOO and AOL have a huge float and the trap is harder to spring.
AVNT has 21 mil shs out and 15 mil float, hard to spring a trap and that makes it an attractive short especially when you know their history and legal problems and the price could go to ZERO. A squeeze is very risky because Judge Whyte could effectively put them out of business any day now and whoever was doing the squeeze whould have even more expensive stock. Amerindo average is $22 and they didn't support that price for long in the face of whats becoming clear even to the biggest Bulls on AVNT. Mike, find another fraud stock like AVNT and let me know what it is and i'm with you, just tell me first though OK?
