Actually I was in Pavia. And although it's considerably nearer tahn Padua, it'd still be a hell of a cab fare. I did have a ride both ways, but it was not door-to-door service; Italians love to make you meet them, and then to drop you, in extremely inconvenient places. So if you really believe taht getting cold and wet is character-building, consider my character built.
