I do believe Boehner has the country's interests in mind. I never believed that about Pelsoi or Reid, who always, ALWAYS acted in their political self-interests. Now, whether Boehner is able to bring about any positive outcome is a different matter. But I do not believe he has evil intent, which I could not say about the Dem's leadership.
