Thanks, LB. I think you might be right. Best Buy had a switch box that had four outputs. They wanted $70 for it, but I think I can find one cheaper.

I suspected something like that all along. The little video explains the difference. When I bought the splitter, it talked about hooking up four TVs to one source, but I want to connect two sources to one TV. If directionality is an issue, that could be the cause of the poor performance.
