H.S. I truly understand what you are saying: check out 'Net Setting and Spear Fishing' site in SI...John, who started it and with whom I've 'corresponded' for several years makes more at this than in his business, too, I would think. You would really enjoy that thread. But I can't sit in this chair all day to trade, do the research...it would be like being an accountant in a cubby hole. Then, the point I was mainly making is that on short trades, the tax BURDEN is 38 or 40 percent, not 28. That is where the risk level...we're talking nearly HALF, is gone the second you make the decision to risk. That's my big objection, or resentment, or whatever. Funny you should mention MUEI....I was long there too....and had a nice profit...until the day MU crashed big-time...about 1 and a half years ago. Fell right thru my stop order...wiped out a 35% gain and gave me an overnight 25% loss. It may be slicker than snot on a brass stairrail, but I feel jinxed...ain't goin' anywhere near that stock!! Since it is married to MU, its fortures depend on two successes..Mu and its own. As for tips...here in Texas there are alot of rumors floating around about UTH...big oil discovery, take-over, so many different stories that I feel something is brewing, I just don't know what. So I've taken a small chance on some. Numbers are decent enuf to gamble, but not great. Have old high school friend that works for Canon or Kodak or whatever...and at our last reunion she asked me about EFII...all her fellow emplowees were buying...it was at 71 at the time. I called her Tues...all contracts are still in place, and all employees still hold and were as jolted as we about the fall. No insider knowledge there. Many are buying more...those who can afford it or know anything about the market. But they are buying because they know the product and believe in it...I'd say that's a great reccommendation. FWIW. cc
