Jozef, IMHO the reason for the "buyer's market" you described is that very few people have ever seen a high-end PC in operation. If you took an average clerk or secretary and sat them down in front of such a PC, they would never use their existing systems again.

The big problem is that systems got better, faster and cheaper even faster than usual and that end users have yet to experience newer systems. While Intel persists in bunny-suit ads for sound and video, millions of people earning $30-$40K are still sitting in front of P90s ... watching their systems boot.

All that is needed for a market shift is a little time and some realistic marketing.
