Wednesday's I play cards...tonight it was gin....another loser. So when I got back I logged on only to check Gene's "Empowerment" http. As a white male, son of immigrant Irish from the 20s I still gotta figger out why I'm so gaddamn empowered. Be that as it may.... ...I was attracted to PMFJI, whaddahellizzat? Pardon Me For Jumpin' In? I'll telya, it got me. Is that what it is? I agree with you 100% that people are now, have been, will be, turned off by developments in the market. I may have said, I believe I did say, that a month maybe 2 ago. When everything is going along okay, everyone is happy. when not....hey I'm the first guy to get upset. However it is unwise to trade while upset....so more often than not, fair or not, amongst the places I let off steam is SI. If you would like advice from me, my advice, take it or leave it, is stay 50% in cash for awhile. I do not care if anyone contradicts me on this-I'm not fighting over it....as far as whether or not someone is a good stockpicker or not is not important right now. What has been happening is that analysts have been aggrandizing future earnings for companies for months and are now starting to back off their estimates. It was BS then....I tried to say it was BS then....I'm certain everyone will find out it was BS in a month or less. "Not fer nuttin'", I don't wish stocks going down on anyone. Everyone has their own way of looking at things, you do, Andrew does, Vicki, Kevin, Jeff, and so on. Me, I like cash. The worst that can happen if I'm wrong is I'm late catching the next up move. However, Steve, if you are right and people are waiting for better times....and I am right to be in cash....it's my belief we are not going to see a lot of happy campers around here for 6 months. Were it in my power I would wish it otherwise, but I think there is a shakeout coming and those that are not at least partly in cash will not be at SI to post about it. Matter of fact, there was already a casualty on the TSO thread....I noticed I have a message from lisa from there (noting her message is waiting reminded me). I'm sorry to hear about it. I just think the next several months are going to be very difficult for those that think the market has to go up all the time and if this is what causes tempers to flare we are all in a pile of trouble. FWIW, IMHO, SNAFU. EDIT...By the way, sorry if you have not done well. However, I still cannot recommend to you a solution other than to be very careful short-term.
