Inode, It wasn't about results; it was about the appearance of doing something. They call it "optics" now. The "optics" are pretty clear in this case. ISIS continues to dominate the headlines by kidnapping and executing people on video. No wonder Obama blames the media for spreading fears about terrorism. Cause you know, if we just ignore ISIS, they'll go away. Charlie Hebdo? Boston Marathon? Just a bunch of "lone wolves" carrying out random acts of violence.
