I don't know who "they" are, but I think it is fine. So long as taxpayers aren't spending money for it.

Apple, today, announced it is building a 2 billion dollar data center that will be heavily based on renewable energy. I think that is great. But don't ask taxpayers to pay for it. Don't spend one nickel of taxpayer money to do it. And you'll get no complaints from anyone.
