Jeff and All; Very interesting conference call(CC) took place this afternoon. Speedfam International(SFAM), a CMP, semi-equipment maker reported earnings after the bell. They have some exposure to the far east and just recently(Sept 29) announced a large first time order from Samsung for their newest tool. During the CC the chairman of SFAM stated that during his recent visit to the far east(Semicon-Japan) that he came away with the impression that the Korean and Japanese will be changing some significant capacity over from memory production to ASIC production. There were lots of questions from analysts about the situation over there, especially Samsung's. If you are curious at all you can listen in to the CC for the next six days at 402-220-1012.
