There was a time when it seemed like Republicans’ main strength in winning political battles against Democrats was their solidarity, their willingness to stick together behind a cause or candidate in order to achieve their dastardly goals without letting inner-party squabbles fracture the voting block. But, that time is no more.

Not since the advent of the Tea Party have Republicans successfully pulled all their eggs into the same Eagle’s nest. Instead, they’ve caught themselves up in some kind of Darwinian net of self-defeat as they all vie for the biggest worm through the ropes and cords that bind them, never realizing it is their own greed and hunger for power that weaves the net to begin with.

Perhaps that is why it is so fulfilling, so amusing to watch master weaver, Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio), spar so frequently with folks like Senators Ted Cruz (R-Texas) and Jeff Sessions (R-Ala.).

Long has the GOP chasm been slipping apart between House leadership and the Senate, like great, inner-partisan tectonic plates opening up and swallowing all the conservatives’ offshore dreams. Now that they have control, they hardly know how to grab hold of it to make use, like striking oil with only a tin cup with which to catch it all.

So what do they do as a result? The same thing any aspiring CEO does who’s trying to save his or her own *ss – they pass the buck and blame it on another, by name, and that’s just what these three stooges have been doing all along over the immigration issue. It became much more apparent and public, however, Tuesday.

It would appear GOP Congressman Christopher Smith (R-NJ) doesn’t feel “homosexual rights” are human rights. Yes, the same Rep. Smith who prides himself on being a crusader of human rights in other realms. He chairs the House Foreign Affairs Africa, Global health, Global Human Rights, and International Organizations Subcommittee. So you’d think Smith would be on board with recognizing LGBT rights as human rights, because after all, LGBT individuals are humans, too.

But no, Smith is a strong believer in “traditional marriage” (whatever that means) and believes:

“There are fundamental differences in the United States over the whole LGBT issue.”

During a hearing about the crises going on in Nigeria he clarified himself:

“I am a strong believer in traditional marriage, and do not construe homosexual rights as human rights. Others have a different view and I certainly respect them.”

If Republican Senator Thom Tillis has his way, restaurant employees would be able to literally wipe their asses with their bare hands and then prepare and serve food to customers without washing their hands first. Gross. (CONSERVATIVE SLOBS)

A church in a small Arkansas town canceled a gay man’s funeral, and members presented his grieving husband and family with hate-filled Bible verses…and a sympathy card. (BACKWARDS AZZ RIGHT WINGERS)
