No need to be Einstein to figure out the new pick without paying! At 9:45 am that day, I searched for the non-resource stock with the highest volume on the Venture Exchange: BINGO! Since then, I have subscribed to SCD, not for knowing first what the "new pick" is (or second after Paul & friends have loaded up!), but for the detail analysis that they provide.

I agree, no SCD subscribers should disclose the secret stock picks or their subscriptions should be revoked, but there in lies an immediate conflict of interest between the writers and subscribers that prevents most good stock pickers from asking for subscription fees while also trying to build a following for a stock.

When trying to maximize the value of an under followed stock, "the more the merrier" is the tried and true method to build liquidity and maximize value, so subscribers will naturally want to tell others to build the market for that stock, and most good stock pickers who "eat their own cooking" would also rather reap the benefit of expanded awareness as well.

I personally decided not to subscribe because I actually take time to perform my own due diligence before jumping into something; but there are some involved here that immediately jump on the recommendations and quickly sweep up any of the initial value that may remain after the newsletter writers loaded up their shares. This factor is amplified when it's the typically tiny companies we are discussing here and there is a limited supply of stock to buy.

The Microcap Kitchen has thrived over the past 15 years with Gary Grobbel, diddly, and other regular contributors here on the basic idea that this"...is a place to share and exchange investment and trading ideas so that we all may pursue the rewards possible in the stock market. Not only do we like to share our investment ideas here, but also our success."

With all due respect, I find it rather unfortunate that a couple of the better talents for discovering new companies here have decided to begin selling their ideas instead of sharing them; but I hope other individuals here will continue to contribute their new ideas, as WDL has recently bought us a great pick with AKR. Another contributor originally brought RX.v to the original Microcap Kitchen at $0.25 back in 2010 (check the post history on the original thread), and several other examples of individuals sharing in the efforts of discovery and due diligence on new investment ideas.

FWIW, I deeply embrace this "mission" and share significantly more than the annual subscription fees with charities that provide life saving services to at risk populations around the world, but I'm not paying for SCD because I simply don't think I would get the value as a subscriber.
