Sounds like you may have recognized reaching the top level of your computer acumen, and probably do need some help. But, one last suggestion, Performax seems to be malware. Have you tried running any malware removal programs like Malwarebytes. If add / remove in the control panel doesn't work have you tried to do it in safe mode or by downloading Revo uninstaller. You should also check her web browser as it might be there as a toolbar or addon. Reinstalling can be a pain and time consuming so I would try everything available to remove the program before reinstalling, as a last resort.

I find today's cars easier to work on. With free computer diagnostics (AutoZone, etc.) and almost unlimited help available on the car forums it's a good time to be an amateur mechanic. YouTube has multiple videos on almost any repair job.
