Suma,

I DID NOT state yours were in Google Chrome. I said in MY EXAMPLE they were in Google Chrome.

They will show they same way in Internet Explorer. Go back and re-read the message and look at the screen picture I included. The other tab/pages open in YOUR BROWSER (what ever one you are using) will show as STACKED pages behind the icon. If you move your mouse over the icon they should pop up as small previews of each one that is minimized. If you then move your mouse over one of them and click it will restore it to the size it was before being minimized.

Glad your mouse is back working.

Suma, good progress with the new mouse. Usually mouses work by just plugging in and any additional software just adds features.

You are using Internet Explorer [IE] on the Toshiba?
and you say
Every day a message comes up on my e mail. Google no longer supports G mail and asks me to use Chrome. I dismiss.
That's confusing to me. But I used to get similar messages on an XP computer when accessing gmail from the IE browser. And, IE could not be upgraded within XP.

For now, please confirm whether you are using IE on the T.
You can ignore the Google nag a little longer :)

Next, in your open IE click on the little gear icon just below the x upper right corner and choose [click] 'about Internet Explorer'. What version is it? [mine is V11 on windows 8.1]

So, answer my questions and we'll take it from there
one step at a time

Gottfried

Suma, [links added] latest version of IE for Windows 7 is version 10. So, if your Toshiba with Windows 7 has IE version 10 it's not the latest but cannot be upgraded anyway because higher versions of IE are only for Windows 8 and 8.1

I think that's why Google nags you to install THEIR browser, Chrome.

We'll get to that. Keep ignoring the nags for now :)

PS: here's where I got the IE for Windows 7 info zdnet.com

and I think the IE 11 can be installed in Windows 7 if W7 has SP1 en.wikipedia.org

If you stick with the Toshiba, you'll slowly get accustomed to it. Glad you're mouse is working. Your first priority for the Toshiba now should be logging into Gmail with it. Like your brother, I'm also in Texas.
