There are several American celebrities that are descended from Middle Eastern parents and grandparents: Here is Dan Hedaya, actor of Syrian Jewish ancestry. The dad in Clueless. Adrian Monk's dad on Monk. Carla's ex on Cheers. His ancestors lived in Syria at least 2000 years. What race is he? Wouldn't have Jesus looked sorta like him? Or Eydie Gorme, Neil Sedaka? Both descended from middle eastern Jews. Other people with one middle eastern (Syrian, Iraqi) Jewish ancestor include Jerry Seinfeld, Paula Abdul, and Chris Kattan. Here are some other middle easterners - non-Jewish: Assad: How about Steve Jobs, adopted but of Syrian ancestry: Or Mitch Daniels, former governor of IN also of Syrian ancestry: Remember now, none of those people are supposed to be called white.
