What the H happend in the last 10 Min Today.

I placed an order with my broker with 8 Min to close.
The ask was 54 13/16. I said lets try for 54 3/4.
He said there was only 8 Min left and we should go at market.
I did and hung up.

Later when I called him for confirmation (my choice)
I got csco at 54 11/16. But the close was 54 3/16.

It went from 54 11/16 to 54 3/16 in 7 Min.

That's unbelievable. What happened?

I'm not bothered, Just bewildered.

Cheers..
Chris.

Style,

You bore me. Unfortunately my work load today is particulary heavy so I can't "play" long. First If you don't know who Vertical Systems is you can look them up on the web

verticalsystems.com

Since they do primary research you'll need to pay to get the reports I cite - sorry. They are reputable and considered to be a top notch firm by every networking company I know and have worked with. The fact that you don't know who these folks are tells me much about your background. This study and others I may cite are not paid for by Cisco or any other company - unlike the Data Com study you keep pointing people to which was funded mainly by Ascend with a test plan drafted by them as well.

Don't you find it curious that the Veritcal Study shows Ascend at a 3.9% market share in the ATM equipment market while you Infonetics shows them at a 23% share. Most folks would wish to find out why the discrepency before damning other research. At a minimum you should first find out who Vertical systems is before you make derrogatorry comments. An excerpt from your message:

>>Ascend has achieved 23 percent marketshare of the worldwide Internet
ATM market.<<<

Note that this is close to what Vertical reported for the "IOS ATM MAKRET" as well showing ASND with a 19.2% share for 1997...but this is down from last year where CSCC reported a 21.7% share. CSCO went from 8.6% in 1996 to 29.5% in that market!!! Again your focusing on only a small piece of the pie. If you look at the ATM WAN market as a whole which includes Access, Enterprise, Carrier, and ISP ASND went from nothing in 1996 to 3.9% in 1997 while Cisco went from 16.1% in 1996 to 19.4%. Let's face it ASND is only a bit player in this market.

As for the frame relay market...once again your number appear to focus only on the ISP piece. I can understand why you continue to do this since ASND has no presence out of the ISP's. They have no presence with the IXC's or LEC's and do nothing in Enterprise or Access. Still, even if we look at the ISP Frame Relay switch business only ASND/CSCC went from a 56% share in 1996 to 21.6% share while CSCO grew from 10.4% to 16.1%. ASND more than halved while CSCO, NN, and NT target this market.

I have much much more. But Sytly, My Good Friend, please don't waste my time anymore until you do your research.

Oh, one last thing. The reason this all started was that you were bad mouthing CSCO when it was in the low 70's but you weren't willing to put your money where your mouth was. Hey! anyone can short a stock when it's at or near it's all time high. That show's me nothing. If you believe what you say than you'll put your money on it. You did not. You are weak.

Oh, please don't demonstrate your case by telling me about business ASND should win in the ISP/LEC space. Tell me something new - about them winning business in the enterprise/access/or IXC arena. I think going forward you'll see CSCO win more business on ASND turf than the other way around. You watch! How long you going to hold those puts? I hope until the earnings come out! That would make me very happy. :)
