Ted, I sorta liked "Fresh Off The Boat," but I was a little disappointed in the characterization of the father. He seemed more clueless and "happy-go-lucky" than most Asian fathers I know. Did you ever see the '90s movie The Joy Luck Club? The husbands were presented as mild mannered and the wives as mostly Tiger moms. Tiger Mom, however, really stole the show. She's wonderful. The show is also getting a lot of rave reviews, especially from Chinese-Americans who can totally relate to the experiences of that family. They are pretty much like every Chinese American family I knew in LA. I was afraid it would be bad like Blackish but its pretty funny. I've added it to my playlist.
