Actually, I find it less than coincidental that we are suddenly hearing how mammography and other screenings are suddenly not "cost-effective." Used to, the object was early detection. Now, we're more concerned about avoiding "false positives."
FYI, I heard that argument before, but it was applied to prostate exams, not mammograms.

Personally, it's hard for me to imagine getting a mammogram "too early." Two high school classmates of mine already got breast cancer, and one of them succumbed to it.
