Bill< Re: MA's. I look at the simple MA's for long term effects like you do, but like the 30 week. I play with the exponential (WMA) to examine near term effects. I will run from 30 week down to 50 day. I do not play options often and am looking for longer term long or short positions. I also like to see volume for longs, increasing RSI for longs, etc. I try and look at as much data as I can when making a decision. I also check out fundamentals and check news to see if there is any hype, etc. Oh yes, I look at the bull and bear channels and make myself aware of the volatility behavior of the stock for sell or cover decisions.
