I sometimes wonder if Microsoft breaks things just to get you frustrated enough to by something new from them...
It had the opposite impact on me. After far to many Microsoft "fumbles", I just chucked them for good and got an Apple MacBook with OS X. No more problems.

I just did the Windows update on my desktop (that was my laptop I mentioned in the earlier post). So far, I don't see anything different. I have stuff running on 2 monitors without apparent problems. In fact, I don't recall ever having problems with updates, but don't take that statement to the bank. My memory may not be as good as it once was... (ggg)

The update prefix KB used by Microsoft and Apple stands for "Knowledge Base."

Personally, I install Windows updates manually about once a month.

However, as a source of amusement, the initials have always reminded me of this movie. <g>
