Costs a lot to drill for oil and gas. Costs a lot to mine coal. Costs a lot to process uranium.
And yet all of these costs are paid for by private industry, because fossil fuels are still a cost-effective source of energy.

It's simple, really. If solar energy were so cost-effective, private industry would have already built a ton of solar power plants. They wouldn't need subsidies from government.

No need to tell me that coal, oil, and gas also gets "subsidies" from government, because even without them, private enterprise would continue funding them.
